Well, considering the fact that it's a late war convoy, it would be heavily escorted, and the merchant ships even had guns at this time.

What we could do, is change the amount of destroyers alvailable to a country, from a default starting number, and have them decrease if there were some type of shipyards to hit. Also, hitting AAA strays could decrease the number of 5" on merchant ships.

Also, there could be different availability of escorts in the other MA's. For example, convoys in the EW sometimes went unescorted, while in the Mid-War this changed with more escorts and guns added on merchant ships. While LW would probably, I suppose, see the most escort carriers.
But plz, don't let the 5in gun be manned, I don't care if they're added, just as long as they are not manned!

Any development of advances naval tactics and fleet schemes would most certainly add to the increased usage of carrier aircraft. It may even lead to an increase in dive bomber and torpedo bomber formations. After finishing the book I just read (see Last Letters Home in the O Club) I'm all for it. I would also like to see other carriers added such as those of Nagumo's Kido Butai, the original Lexingtons, and the Independence Class light carriers. Heck I'd even enjoy trying to land on the Galloping Dragon!

Attacking a fleet in a lone Avenger is no fun. Hard to get close to it and score a hit. Would be nice to have massed carrier raids like we do the land based ones where someone says meet at so and so field in 5 minutes for a heavy strike. I'd like to here "meet on the Lexington in 5 minutes for a dive bombing attack on the invasion fleet." That would be swell. :aok

Great pic of Ryujo showing the Imperial Chrysanthemum, I swiped it, Thanks!
Didn't have that one in my collection! Ya know that ship was notoriously unstable
and topheavy, that is how it gained that nickname, "Galloping dragon"..
It had 2 hangar decks, and could ship up to 40 planes on a very small displacement!
Converted from an Ocean Liner, it was one of a kind!

I would like to think that after 13 years with no other classes of CVs added, a refresher thread might just be in order.  :old:

.... and they would look fabulous on the new water.

Iowa class battleship

Yamato class battleship

Shōkaku-class aircraft carrier

Events would benefit. MA sea battles would benefit.
