Epi8c MLW Mission 5-18-14
« on: May 19, 2014, 03:47:19 PM »
:airplane: Last night was indeed an "Epic" mission of sorts and was a complete success, put together by 49Merlin and his guys! We launched 102 B-17's and I am not sure how many escort fighters, somewhere around 20 I think. Yes, we lost a lot of bombers, but the Knights lost a lot of fighters, 262's, 163's a lot of 152's and 110's. I think all who joined in the "epic" running air battle, which was very much like some of the aerial combat missions which I have heard about in WW2, and plans are already being made to have one of these every two weeks.
I only point this out to say that the game is alive and well in the MLW arena, it just takes a little planning and leadership.

I also liked the 9 goons NOE capture mission the rooks pulled off last night :)

The coordinated missions attacks will not stop.  Most in AH still do not get it; that team work is the key to success in this game.  I will bomb anything I wish and kill anybody that stands in the way!  Should you have something to say.   Look up, we have escorts!  I may be one of those escorts!    WTG ET

The ET and Devil Dog style bomber missions make the MA soooo much more interesting, both flying with them or against them :aok

:airplane: No, we were at 20,000 feet! Who wants to tool around at 30K? Very boring! I personally encourage interceptions, as that is why the game is interesting and fun!

There was alot of guys on country channel asking where is the bomber group heading.. after the first few initial reports of how large the mission was..  my response became "where ever they want to!"  :aok

Sure wish I could have seen that grouping.   :salute

Fantastic mission!  I really enjoyed it.  The main bomber box was very very tight.  I was left to pick off the fringes.

You were all doing great until you got in range of the ME163's but by then I was out of fuel and couldn't watch the carnage.

Do it again.

I'd love to see some Historical missions using the TU-2S or maybe a Japanese attack mission.

I love B17s dont get me wrong but we have such full sets in AH. Heck I'd love to see a herd of B25H's on the attack. That is a great mission bird. I remember my old Bomber squad , 484'th, used to fly it on squad night quite a bit.

:airplane: On Sunday night past, we launched 14, B-25H's and capture a base. We some supporting fighters, but was mainly B-25H's. I had 3 air to air kills before the swarm of defenders finally deep "sixed" me off shore. Was great fun.
