Warthog software questions
« on: September 04, 2014, 09:36:15 PM »
Howdy all, Got the new warthog  set it up in AH only wile I figure out the button lay out. I want to set it up in the "Target" software so I can customize it to use the toggle type switches, just a couple of things has me confused....so far  :headscratch:

In the "fly now" profile set up there is a third drop down box and I have no clue as to what file to choose, this is copied from the users manual

In the Associate Configuration field, click the Browse button and select the profile that corresponds to the
selected simulator. The T.A.R.G.E.T profiles are .fcf or .tmc type files.

Second question, will the "Target" software see Airplanes and Ground vehicles like the game does and switch automatic or do I need to set up different profiles for Planes and Gv's?  Thanks for any help you guys can be  :salute

Wesel, I don't have target up on this computer but I think there is a tab to create a profile.

On ground or air, you will set up a switch to select three different positions for each switch or button and two that you add two layers.  I use the three position switch on the side of the throttle.  I have a fighter mode, bomber  mode and gv mode then I have weapons in fighter with two layers so I have one to fire all and the other primary then secondary.

In the graphic interface if you don't set the modes then a selection like secondary weapons select will apply to all three.

It will be a bit confusing in the beginning but then its  a piece of cake.

Select run then use the event tester to see if it does what you think.

I have not had a chance to play with the software yet, it's a weekend thing when I can sit down for a few hours to play with it. I was just curious to know what file it is looking for, thought it might copy the AH settings to make it easier to map in a profile.

No target software here on the warthog. Too nasty to use it well imho. Everything set in AH. I never gv except an occasional M3 or LVT to bring troops so I dont actually need all this.

I use Bustr's scaling on the stick.

You might start using the AH way of assigning your buttons and switches then when you get what you want and need things like . dot commands then work with the target software.

One of my favorite is an auto  3 second calibration for bombing.  I hit the button from the cockpit view, it then goes through the calibration sequence holding for 3 seconds then puts you to the bomb-sight.

The software works with the cougar panel as well.
