Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me this
AWM film which was the main source of info for this aircraft.
The Hurricane Mk IID enjoyed some success against German armour in the desert campaign in 1942. However its lack of armour protection made it very vulnerable to flak while operating so close to the ground. So the RAF gradually switched to using rocket projectiles or bombs against German vehicles and sent most of the remaining IIDs either to the Soviet Union or the Far East. As the Japanese had few tanks the SEAC IIDs were used to shoot up enemy coastal or river shipping or to attack fortified bunkers. This 5 squadron aircraft was still operational in 1945 where it was filmed landing at Dum Dum in India.
