If you turned up the reflective skin option in game (even 1 notch) you will notice a considerable FPS drop. That thing is designed to kill your video card!

If you have that turned up, turn it off. You really won't notice reflections in the skin while in a fight so you won't be losing anything by turning it off, but you will gain a massive amount of your FPS back.

Right, well, I have my controls more or less set up, but the game is running awfully choppy...it's a little concerning considering I can run something as intensive as say, WT, on max graphics and dick around on the deck with basically full framerates. I'm also trying to figure out if there's a key to reset your trimming to the default (e.g., no trim), because I end up turning on combat trim 100% of the time in lieu of that.

Also, the Me 410 is about 12 different kinds of obviously-illegal-fun. Seriously, that stuff should be banned. Even in the AI test arena it's point, click, dakka.

Go to graphics options on the clipboard and make sure environmental mapping is off.

No trim is generally not a good option. Turn combat trim off and toggle auto-angle trim, Shift-X, to set your trim for your current speed and pitch attitude.

If you have other questions or problems or you want to schedule training just post in the Help and Training forum.

I find that the single most abusive thing to my graphics card is the "smooth shadow" option. If I turn that on, my frame rate will tank from 50 down to 5.

Something that a lot of us will do is we will play on low graphics settings and then we will turn all the graphics back up before entering the film viewer. The film viewer pulls the graphics settings that were last used in the game and renders the film using those. It's still GPU intensive but it's much easier on the CPU since it doesn't need to process all of the data the game is trying to throw at it.

Volsky pictures dont do credit to when our 111's were jumped by a red cloud of Hurri's. You really had to be there. And you will, next scenario.

Haven't seen one in a long time and I'll blame it on my bad timing. Your not going to find this in WT I'll make it short. In the MA, NME country launches a massive strat run on our strat and HQ at least 60 planes mostly bombers handful of fighter escort. As the whole country rallied and upped for intercept I decided to bail on what I was doing and join in. I upped a 152 and upped with 2 friendlys. What felt like a lifetime climbing (still new to the game at the time) quickly turned into OMG when we intercepted. The line of bombers went on for 20 miles. I got 2 kills before getting shutdown. Once towered vDallas called for a resupply on HQ as it looked like a group of bombers was advancing on the HQ. Sure enough it was 6 b-29's in that strat raid who made it.

Looking up at all of the bombers and fighters intercepting was incredible. Honestly changed my life in a way. Just imagining what it must have been like to watch the great areial battles over europe. This was 4 years ago and there have been a couple thousand just as awesome moments since. Welcome to the game!

That is an understatement. :x

On top of everything, trying to swap modes is giving me a hell of a time. I'd like to be able to drive a tank around without having to use my joystick to aim the darn thing.

I'd recommend using SweetFX to improve the visuals of the game and it isn't a major tax on your system so you should see little or no loss of FPS.

I forgot to mention that I'm a meager music major (uni), so I basically have negative spare cash on hand. If memory serves AH2 is subscription-based?

Also, I think I've mastered or at least learned my ACMs. I take up my F4F-4 against 109 G-10s and K-4s for shiggles in WT...  :joystick:

Music minor <-- !!!!!!!   I live in our music building when not doing homework or playing                  where do you go to college at??????
