Salute to Dantoo and Lt1963
« on: June 16, 2015, 08:02:40 PM »
I apologize for being a few days late with this salute.  I just wanted to Salute Lt1963 and Dantoo for the great fight last FSO.  I was the lonely Zeke engaged with you low on the water just south of the east carrier group.  That was one of the best fights I have ever had either in FSO or the MA.  I was looking for revenge cause you guys escorted the torpedo planes that sank our CV.  Way to go to the CO's and the CIC.  There were waves of planes that kept attacking from all directions and all altitudes.  Dantoo, aren't you an Aussie?  What time was it there?  That's commitment.  I was the Bouncer for this frame and we were commenting that the FSO CO's really make our life easier.  Everyone was on roster, everyone knew their assignments and a great time was had by all.

<S> to Dantoo and his squad 9Gaip.  The 325th shared the sky with them.  9Gaip engaged the early zero's while the 325th remained high to engage the D3A's that we knew were coming.  And they came in late.  It was hard to hold back our guys knowing they needed help below.  Glad we did though as D3A's did appear right on time.

His guys really did an outstanding job.  Although the 325th assisted it was 9Gaip that did well over 80% of the fighting.

<S> Thanks guys.  Squad worked hard.

Somebody shot off my rudder in the midst of the fight on the wave tops which made it hard to get round in circles or line up shots.  I tried to rearm and put it on the deck quite ok.  Rolling again, the plane skidded to the left with torque and I didn't have enough airspeed keep it airborne after leaving the carrier about half way along the deck.  Ended up ditched but the fight was pretty much over.

Was a fun outing.

 :aok
I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.
