Seems to be a problem with shutting down an aircraft engine on the deck of the cv’s. The prop keeps spinning at idle speed but no engine sound. And no engine shut down sound. I had noticed this after a successful landing, and then tried tests by just upping from the hanger, starting the engine and then attempting to shut it down.
If you do another engine start in the same plane, there is no engine start sound, but you again hear the engine running at idle.
Tried various carrier planes and two different Cv’s. I also tried moving the plane to different spots down the deck and shutting down, with the same results, except for one time when next to the forward 5" guns. But could not repeat that success again.
