The Coolest Thing You Will See This Week
« on: September 28, 2015, 07:18:38 PM »
Jay Welch (son of the legendary Ace and Test Pilot George Welch) forwarded me this link to a completely amazing collection...

If this doesn't make you smile, kindly lay down and quit breathing... You're dead and don't know it.

Neato. All those planes were built by me. In my youth, plastic, balsa wood, wish I'd save a few.
X-15 is my 2nd favor plane (Rocket) behind the B-47 since age...umm, about 4!

Rocket geek too. Circa 1973. I'm pretty sure that was a #3 size Tupperware bowl hair cut. Dad was cheap. Plaid pants are coming back!

George Welch a native of my home town. One of these days it's on my list to do a P-38 of his. He also flew with the 80th. The P-40 he flew on Dec. 7th would also be a good choice.
