TrackIR software release - 5.3
« on: January 05, 2016, 07:09:07 PM »
Natural Point has updated the TrackIR 5 software and 64-bit drivers.

Has anyone successfully done the update?

I'm having problems on the yaw axis.  It operates fine looking to the right.  Looking left it spikes after just a few degrees.

I might just have old equipment.  I was wondering about the experiences of others.

I'm still on 5.2.200 with the TIR 4 hardware (and Pro Clip), but it sounds like maybe the camera is losing track of one of your points when you look that way. Check your setup and make sure you see three dots all the time when you move your head around. I think maybe tomorrow I'll update and see how it goes for me.

Okay.  I believe that these forums are very helpful when folks are honest.

So - I learned something.  Honest.  Imadot is entirely correct and that response had me looking again.

When you are essentially starting over (back up your current profiles before upgrading, please  :O) and you didn't back up your current profiles before upgrading, you should make sure that you select the correct tracking device at the top of the profile window.  Yes.  I was trying to use the WRONG device.

With that corrected and by moving my Track IR camera more in line with the Track Clip Pro, I now have what appears to be a BRAND NEW TrackIR.  I am enjoying the rebuild of my two Aces High Profiles and I'm learning to enjoy it more.  There's gotta be something good in that!

So.  No problems with the 5.3 update thus far. All is well.

I have thinking about going to 5.3.  I have my trackir perfect.  I did not want to screw that up.

I have already proven that I'm fallible.  I haven't seen any difference, so far, to the interface or features of the software.  The major benefit might be the new drivers, but that's conjecture.  I wouldn't know how to measure them.

I flew the Alpha for an hour or so last night while tweaking my 'new' profiles and all worked according to Hoyle.

Lots of updates for Nvidia cards and track IR.

Emperors new clothes I think  :)

Anyone get any improvements when they install updates?

Not once have I had any changeable improvement from Nvidia except messing my sound up.
