Aircraft damage
« on: December 29, 2016, 08:54:32 AM »
Add the ability to use perk points to repair aircraft on rearm pad?  Cost based on amount of damage..  Dobs mentioned this yesterday and I thought it sounded like a neat way to use perk points and increase the value/use of them.

I do not imagine this is a new idea but didn't see anything on quick search.

There have have been lots of wishes over the years for aircraft repair on the rearm pads (or repair hangars - hey that might be a good use for the shed and the end of the runway?)

I like the idea myself, but more than a few have added they didn't think it was realistic, since even minor repairs couldn't possibly be completed in such a short time in the real world.  I *think* I recall Hitech opposing it unless it also ended the player's sortie.   With that constraint, I don't know why anybody would take the time to do it.

As opposed to the M3s carrying up to 1000 tank rounds, 10 turrets, 10 sets of tracks, and the ability to resupply up to 80 town buildings.

To OP:  Uh...no.

On a side note, I do also find it funny that if you lose your turret, both tracks, engine AND used up ALL your ammo, you can get it all repaired with just ONE box. :noid

1 Box = 1 Track replaced.  So 2 Boxes if you lost both.  Ammo, got to let that slide.  After all, it only takes 30 seconds to fully rearm/refuel your plane, and it takes an age to get anywhere in ANY GV (gotta remember, a GV is likely to run sups out, and even a Jeep takes a moment).  Engine and/or turret knocked out however, you are done.

EDIT: Welp, for some reason it posted it before I was done.  Don't even know what key combo I hit to do it. :noid

GV repairs is no less than a joke in AH, make some repairs (like repair armor in the field) a thing of the past.
Let another tank   tow it to some kind of safety and get perk points for it instead.

Don't let insta-repair happen to planes too.
My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.
