Is AH dead...?
« on: February 09, 2017, 09:10:10 PM »
I've been here since 2008. And sadly, they've spent all this time to roll out AH3, the numbers are dead and nothing is improving. Just spent an hour, having to fly on a map that requires you to climb to 15k, flyer a sector and a half to get ganged.

I guess I remain the fool thinking anything will change. HiTech has fooled a few hundred to keep giving them $15/mo in the hopes...And asking AH is like talking to a rock. The only thing Skuzzy will do is ban people.

At some point...

It is true there are some frustrations with the maps and frame rates at the moment.

I only bother to fly in US weekend prime times now and numbers are ok.  Gang or be ganged is a fact of life but it has been for many years now.

You've played the same computer game for over 8 years. That's longer than most marriages. For you it's dead, yes.

Want to know the secret to maintaining an interest in subscription based games? Here's how I do it, I play for about four months, and then I take a break for about ten years.

I signed back up for a month and flew.  The two major problems I faced were the maps were far too large for the number of players, and that my computer, while custom built in 2013 for gaming, still couldn't maintain a consistent high FPS in AH3.  Trying to see enemy A/C against terrain was a nightmare.

I have an i7-4770k CPU at 3.5ghz
Nvidia GeForce GTX670 Vid card
16gb of ram (can't seem to find the speed of it under system).
Solid state hard drive with conventional hard drive for storage.

Anyhow, wasn't powerful enough to have fun in AH3.

I have been very critical of the course of AH in the past years. But at no point I have seen HiTech making any wild claims about the future of AH or promising anything. Nor did the company raise any funds for future from us for game upgrades or endeavours. You pay 15$ each month to play the game as it is.
If your hopes got fooled, I'm afraid you fooled yourself.

american players complaining about numbers have no room to talk.  Prime time still has 100-300 depending on the day,  yes they were higher in the past but I can find plenty of action with <100.   Especially on the forced small map rotation we currently have.

Now you try playing in off peak arena with 20-40 players max and find some MMO action.

Plenty has improved from HTC perspective, VR addition, whole new terrain engine, skin updates to higher resolutions the list goes on.   If your having a bad time of it don't blame HTC, check yourself and come back once you have had a more positive attitude adjustment.

Locked for violation of rule #4.

Yes, I only ban people.

Well, that is when I am not working on skins and utilities for such things,...
or when I am building game releases,....
or setting up new tours,....
or answering emails all day long,....
or answering phone calls all day long,....
or answering questions on the bulletin board before I come to work and throughout the day,....
or dealing with player complaints about others players,....
or support the CM team and events,.....
or try to keep our Facebook page up to date,....
or making help videos for our Youtube channel,....
or making smart remarks to people who accuse me of being so myopic as to only looking to abuse the player base....

Yeah,..that's all I do, among other things, like locking threads which serve no purpose but to abuse HTC staff, the game, and/or the player base.
