Association for Cherishing the Memory of the Dead of the War. My mother participated by locating on the spot where they had buried Soviet corpses during the Interim Peace. Towards the end of the Winter War Soviet soldiers inhabited the houses of the evacuees. The winter of 39-40 was extremely cold so they left their dead in ditches to be covered by snow. Imagine a 12 year old girl hauling rottening corpses along the fields to be buried somewhere behind the barn...
