I think having objectives so far apart on the map really hinders late frame action.  It may not be the only reason though since it seems late frame action has really dried up as of late in FSO.  But having objectives so far apart surely can't help.  Some of the most intense fights I have had in FSO come late in the frame as the fighter units are out hunting one another.  I know it's not the cake but it is definitely the icing.  :salute

Yes, Bug. Especially since each CiC stacked the opposite objective of the other.

Cic's will never do a good enough job for everyone.   :headscratch:

People will always P&M about late action, which BTW last month the opportunity was there, all you boys had to do was grab gas and go to England.   The vulch light was green, some took advantage.........  I guess others didn't.

Second strikes happened, though not in mass force.   Gas in those British hunks, just doesn't go far..... Cic's don't control that either.

You want fight till everyone is dead, but you want it to come to you.   It just doesn't work that way, sorry.

Eliminate score all together, then it just may......  Shoot em till your blue in the face then, cause it will mean nothing at all.

Realistically........ Probably will not happen.

Your head scratch is warranted, because you do appear to be confused.  No one is questioning the job of the CiC, in fact Devil was a CiC in frame one.  It's only about the setup, I fully understand the role of CiC.

I did struggle with the design Bug...I wanted action in both the Solomons and N.G. but the trade off was hindering late frame action due to the distances. As with all the setups there are many ways to do them and i'm sure next PACIFIC one we do will have it more concentrated.

It's pretty common in assault style setups where one side is on the assault and the other is pure defense.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Well Mr Bug,

That said,  Devils comments should have been a null and void from the get go, he brought up "cic"  Not I sir!

The setup was to say the least DRASTICALLY!!!  Changed from the initial writeup, and I'm not so sure it didn't happen a couple times when it came to side rides and numbers.

I too understand and MANY TIMES have filled the Cic role, so rest assured I'm not confused.   Maybe your initial post would have just been better served as a PM to Squire.

Perhaps in Frame 3 Squire would possibly consider 2 targets close in proximity, and near the front lines of action so as to produce more action.

The point I was making was that each objective wound up being a turkey shoot.

I stacked the defense of the large airfield because it was the higher value target with the assumption that my opponent would stack his attack of it. Instead he only sent a token force there and smashed the small airfield instead. Who knows how much action there would have been if the Allies had not played the points saving game.

The end result was many enemies separated by a dozen sectors.

Devil I had the option to put some of my guys in F4F's but declined as they were too slow to escort the bombers.  Instead I hung 51 big beautiful B-24's out there at 18k for three passes over the field I was ordered to attack.  No attempt at saving points from these Pigs, we were begging for flammable planes to fly into the formation so we could gun them to bits. 12 of the Axis pilots obliged.  :devil

51 B-24's into 101 is not a problem, but only 13 B-25's into A39 is.

Glad you had fun, but many died of boredom on Friday.

No boredom here. My squad was 100% successful! We were blocking south of 101 to ward off low to medium alt B-25's. Not a one got through!  Then we climbed in an attempt to shoot down the B-24s with our pop guns and got jumped by blue birds.
