And for the third time evading my invitation to explore what this thread was about in the first place: flying, while continuing to run his mouth. EXACTLY my motivation for criticising Caldera in the first place. I think I’ve finally figured out this cowboy-based, swaggering code of honour which you, Caldera and Icepac cling to under the illusion that it is strength: expedience. Whatever expedient straw you can grasp to get your illusion of ‘win’. An ego so necessary that it precludes the humility to learn from the negative things life throw in your path.

You with no counterargument, no reason, no logic. Just a skipping from one unfounded assumption to another with a hate-based teeth-gnashing resentment of what you consider an unfounded attack on an innocent player.

Caldera, who is presently hiding under a rock, peeking out to see if it’s safe to post another humorous appeal-to-the-masses-for-support meme under the illusion he has no need to answer the criticism he brought upon himself.

And Ipecac, who seems to believe PMs are a safe conduit for his own impotent variety of knuckle-dragging ‘let’s meet in person’ intimidation, protected by some illusion of a right to privacy.

Ironic that this thread has mirrored Caldera’s fight with Ahiru. You have nothing to counter my issues, have stumbled from assumption to insult to derision and implications of lack of manliness or sanity and then this last grasp at humour, all the while being driven to the deck, drained of energy and with no options left, bending over for a bunch of red hot Ho-5 rounds up the arse.

And the final irony: I do not care who wins this argument anymore than I care who wins an ACM bout. All these things, including this thread are an opportunity to learn. Learn about others and oneself. I have certainly done that here. I got stronger through this interaction while you got weaker.

The value of further discussion has clearly long passed. Someone else posted in this thread, someone who might think differences in opinion cannot co-exist with respect. This is untrue. His understanding of you arrived earlier than mine:

I couldn't torture myself and watch the entire 18 minutes of the film.  The first few minutes was more than enough to come to the conclusion that it was actually a poor example of flying on both parties. 

Ahiru could have been more aggressive in his BnZ passes but he's not that aggressive of a pilot in 1v1 situations, and Caldera could have also been more aggressive in his break turns to force the over shoot on each of Ahiru's passes but he wasn't.  Caldera would instead of using a Low Yo-Yo to break into Ahiru's attack and force the reversal on the overshoot, he'd Split-S instead for absolutely no positive benefits for doing so.

Ahiru, after the first few passes, should have recognized that his non-aggressive BnZ passes weren't working and Caldera's tactic was to try to force the overshoot.  Upon seeing and recognizing this, Ahiru should have gone into a lag pursuit and used lag turns (to avoid overshooting Caldera) to set himself in position to blast Caldera out of the sky when Caldera maneuvered to force the overshoot.

Why were Ahiru's BnZ passes not aggressive?  He never pressed his advantage nor set himself at proper angles to compensate for Caldera's break turns or Split-S for a shot, nor did he do the most important thing a BnZ pass is supposed to do.  The main object of Boom and Zoom is to force your opponent to bleed away his energy by making him break to avoid the attack, thus rendering him a slow and lumbering target, Ahiru failed to do so, otherwise the fight would have only lasted a few minutes instead of a tortuous 18 minutes.

As I mentioned earlier, Caldera could have been more aggressive on the overshoot attempts.  He was also very sloppy in his break turns and wasted energy needlessly floundering around when his turns and movements should have been smooth to avoid any unnecessary energy loss.  Caldera should have used more Low Yo-Yo's and instead of just breaking to avoid Ahiru's attack, should have broke into them for a better chance of forcing the overshoot and reversal.  When he did a Split-S, that was a bad mistake because of the needless loss of altitude and the energy he gained was rendered rather useless since he had to use whatever energy he gained to regain some measure of altitude he lost, potentially setting himself up for an easy shot on Ahiru's part (if he was more aggressive in his attacks).  Caldera should have used a Low Yo-Yo to break into Ahiru's attack, pulling just enough Gs to avoid wasting whatever energy gained in the maneuver, this would have allowed Caldera to either potentially follow Ahiru into the vertical after his BnZ pass or left Caldera enough energy to regain the altitude lost (and maybe gain a few extra feet) during the breaking turn without leaving himself as a potential target.

Interesting analysis, thanks.  I thought he should have won in short order.  When he finally slowed down, that's what happened.  At low speed, the 202 is no match for the 84.
