apologies to horble for lack of numbers this week and for screwing up orders. sorry man, my fault. thank you for kindly adjusting for us.

didn't help that my computer screwed up during the FSO and I ended up bailing prematurely(let keep it out of the gutter!)

Numbers ate you up that frame.  We had a bit of luck run our way as well.
Still might be interesting to see the scores.  You got all the ships didn't you?
I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

Difficult to defend the ships when the defenders are starting 75+ miles from them.

Initially it looked like there was only a few 190Fs attacking when we arrived. Film showed 8 low with more 190 escort high.

I'm not exactly sure, due to the objectives not disclosing the enemy fields, how far the Axis had to fly to attack them. I like that aspect of the "fog of war" but if we don't have the ability to defend the fleet without full power NOE from launch, it's frustrating.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

We flew roughly the same distance as you, we however didn't climb.   That would have been a waste for us.

By the time you got down to use the gig was already up for the TF, it was just a matter of a few strafing runs.   2 squaddies made a return flight later in frame and wiped the remaining ship or 2 off the map.

Yea, a bunch of us paid the price,  I think you had us outnumbered around 2 to 1 or a little better.  the mission was light in numbers but the 3 squads involved made it work just fine.

Nef,

The attack 190s (F8s) flew 100 miles, had scouts locate the fleet, and pressed an immediate attack as we were aware of the HIGH Spits rolling in ... had only enough time for a single bomb pass and 1 gun reattack before we were swarmed ...

From where I sat, the defense was well executed....we just came in lower than the CAP seemed to expect--so a lag in realizing that we were attacking.

FWIW: The CAP forced us to adjust our attack plan and go in without setting up better geometry.

Thanks for the details, our Spitfires came in at 25K -/+, the fleet was flashing a few minutes before we arrived and the attack was underway when we achieved visual on you guys.
