CV Landing Turned Slingshot
« on: June 21, 2017, 04:04:07 PM »
Last night i experienced an interesting situation, wondering if it's just me or what.

Landing a zero on a CV, gear and hook down. landed a little forward of where I normally like, CV is turning/normalizing, I come to a stop right away as I caught a wire, then ZOOM :bolt: I'm slung backwards off the CV and crashed into water behind CV...

Did i just fudge up on landing!?  Is that normally possible or did I encounter the nether-world on the CV deck?  :headscratch:

If your engine was not at complete idle or not revved enough to offset the wind, you will roll backwards. This is enhanced when the CV is turning. A turning CV can cause all kinds of movement issues. When I land on a turning boat I always stand on the brakes

Not too uncommon, afaik this happens when you land on a turning cv and hits the deck in the wrong angle.

Pretty much what happened then, little bit of an angle and someone making a mistake in the ships wire retracting system... left it set to slingshot-return!

Has happened to me before.   A minor bug.
