film viewer input handling
« on: July 16, 2017, 10:30:01 AM »
The film viewer is intercepting key strokes even when the app is not active.

Scenario: I record and playback a film.  I want to pause the play back and ALT-TAB to another app to record some information, then go back to film viewer and play more of the film.

Reproducing:

Start film viewer and move to left half of the screen.
Start spreadsheet app (e.g. LibreOffice) and move to right side of the screen.
Play film until chosen point and pause.
ALT-TAB to the spreadsheet.
Enter numbers into the spreadsheet (e.g. time, Altitude, TAS, etc.)

The numbers typed into the spreadsheet will be interpreted by the film viewer as view panning (I use the keypad for number entry) in the film viewer even though the film viewer app is not the active app.  There is no window overlap across the apps.  In some cases, the keyboard input it intercepts switches the view entirely (i.e. the view is now ground level) so any view positioning I have done is completely lost.  It is difficult to get the view back without backing up the film, playing it a bit, pausing again, and repositioning the view every time I enter data into the spreadsheet.
