AHIII Dx11 Crash
« on: December 08, 2017, 07:44:36 AM »
Here is provided below a .dmp file of AHIII Version 3.03 Patch 1 crashing while playing after I had flashed my ref XFX Radeon Rx Vega 64 8Gb graphics card from it's ref vbios version to the ref vbios version of a ref XFX Radeon Rx Vega 64 8Gb Liquid Cooled graphics card.

I had went into the game to test all out after the flash w\o doing a restart of Win 10 or an unstall, clean & reinstall of the Crimson 17.11.4 drivers as from all appearances all went well & card was operating very well. When the crash occurred I had dropped down on the deck to a part of the map that was loaded (can't remember now) w\ a lot of trees to put as much of a load on the GPU to test the upper end. All was looking good but once the GPU clocks went above the 1687MHz mark the game froze then hung then shut down w\ the famous dialog box popping up stating that aceshigh11.exe had crashed....clicked on the "Close Program" button once it appeared & all shut down back to desktop. Checked the temp folder & found this .dmp file. Went back in the game & all started back up just fine and all ran well but the game would hang whenever the GPU load put the clocks above the 1657MHz mark but not crash...I would have to go into TM then use the OS shut down button there to perform a cold boot to start all back up. After the 2nd episode is when I then performed a clean uninstall of the Crimson 17.11.4 drivers then reinstalled them clean. I didn't get any .dmp files created from these 2 episodes as once the system was restarted & AHIII Dx11 was restarted the game brought me back to where it had calculated I should have been which indicates that the game itself didn't cause the hangups.

After this was done I haven't had any more issues running the game to date.

I suspect it was the vid card drivers due to the vbios reflash that caused the Dx11 version to initially hang & crash but y'all might find something else so I'm sending the .dmp file to you.

Hope it helps out.
