I played with any setting I could find related to icons and nothing changed the size of these monstrosities.
This is on my daughter's new laptop with integrated Vega graphics.  AMD 2500U.  Not sure if thats related.

Would screen resolution have anything to do with it?

Might also be the new Vega graphics, i.e. a driver issue.

looks like the laptop had the latest drivers from the store, re-installed them with no luck

I take it back, switching from max texture size of 256 to 512 fixed the issue
