Thanks to Lyric1 for finding the info for this skin. Sources differ on when the photo used for this skin was taken, August or November 44 or January 45 being claimed. I will use the August 44 reference as that also lists a pilot for it:-
This Me 163B was flown by Leutnant Hartmut Ryll of 1./Jg 400 from Brandis air base in Germany. On the 16th August 1944 Ryll was one of four JG 400 pilots to intercept a formation of B-17s. Ryll unsuccessfully attacked two bombers before being killed when his Komet was blown up by a P-51 escort.
This Komet was an early example of the type, probably operated by the test squadron Erprobungskommando 16 before being transferred to 1./JG 400. Early 163s were often delivered in an all-over light blue colour and then camouflaged in the field with whatever paint was to hand. In this case I am assuming EpKo 16 painted the upper surfaces in RLM 70 dark green and 71 black green and then JG 400 later added some patches of RLM 81 olive green.
