Windows 10 site connections
« on: July 25, 2018, 10:01:36 AM »
Microsoft has finally listed all the sites Windows 10 connects to, automatically.  It could be due to all the consumer mistrust building in the market surrounding who is gathering, what data.

Just an FYI.

The comments section was a good laugh (for me anyway)

Why does it mention Twitter, Facebook, and Candy Crush Saga?  Does a clean install of Windows 10 put those programs on your computer??

It's never put Twitter of Facebook on my installs, but it does put some games and a bunch of apps that I'll never use on there.  I just uninstall them.

Check the version/update value of the Windows 10 installation.  It does install those apps if the installation version is higher than or equal to the version listed.

I would hope they could be removed.

Some of the apps can easily be removed through the programs and features thingy. Those that can't be uninstalled that way can be uninstalled using certain spells in PowerShell which should be applicable to all users.

@715: Yes, it does. And it does that for every new user created.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

good to know, outside of AH as well.

read yesterday where ms is starting a subscription service. you might ask, subscribe to what?

Its coming, if you want updates, gotta pay! God forbid they sell a finished product that works out of the box. A large percentage of updating is fixing bad coding. Now you buy faulty product, and have to pay for the fix.......................... .....

granted I am generalizing but...............
