How about a fictive scenario where for ex Axis have an island with Shore batteries and some fields. Pantelleria for ex but with added SB:s. The Allied side have a ship convoy that have to pass the island and the objective is simply to take the island before the SB:s can kill the ships. The SB:s doesnt actually have to kill them but if the ships reaches the island before it is captured they are counted as sunk. The axis have fighters for defense, both from the island and other bases on the mainland.

The Allies needs to kill every hangar and bunker on the fields w bombers plus WF the town. If you want more fun some C-47:s can be added and an actual capture of the base (the airfield) is needed.

It could be fun and it doesnt require any kind of scoring system, either the base is captured and the Allies win, or its not and then the Axis win.

Not to hijack, but what about a kamikaze style scenario? Lilmak brought this up and it might be a lot of fun,

bunch of jap planes and a ship target. Simple, ship sunk equals a win for the japs. No point losses for losing aircraft, just did the ship go down? Glory for the empire! 

only downside is I don't think a plane crashing into a ship causes any *damage*. . .

There's a lot of whacky ways to setup scenarios that I (and my limited time here) don't think have been tried.

I LOVED the pearl harbour one that had airspawns for the japs.

This is true... and because they are so fragile, make it such that it doesn't take much to win... as in, heck, if a couple aircraft MAKE IT, then that's a "win". 

Not sure why the japs wanted to make their wings out of matchstick heads.....

I do have a serious idea about a fictional scenario. I know the Operation Downfall scenario was done before. But I do have a very good one. Brooke, what about Operation Unthinkable where it would be the Russians vs the British and US. Something along those lines.

Since ideas are being tossed around, especially some crazy ideas, then how about this one for a fictive scenario?

During the end of WW2, a division brewed between Texas and Virginia. They became belligerent towards each other over who was the best military capable. Texas favored the Army Air Corps while Texas pursued the naval option.

It will be greatest Army Navy fight the world has ever seen.  The Virginia 2nd Pursuit squadron of P-51 vs the Texan Corsair Posse.  The OK Corral of the sky.

The idea for tha kamakze scenario was because the Japanese usually get hammered pretty bad anyway. The idea was to, in fact, make a turkey shoot but to make it so just a few surviving Japanese planes could still win the battle even with a high loss rate. With the Japanese in early bomb toting zekes mostly with maybe a single squad in Ki-84s for some type of escort. Like a 65-35 split in favor of the Axis. With the Americans in some serious beasts. With a small group of -4s thrown in. Basically, if you lit a boat with you zeke bomb, it was considered sunk.

Seems like a hoot to me. I’d even fly a zeke in that one.




I also thought it might be fun to do an air to ground deal. Where you have a large group of tanks trying to rush a town or othe objective with a large contingent of jabo or attack airplanes trying to stop it. That could work many ways. M4s vs Stukas, Panzers vs P-47s, T-34s vs 190s, Tigers vs IL-2s. Mix in a few M-16s and Wirbs or Osti’ and like a single squad of defending fighters and you have yourself a fight.

I think It’d be cool just to see 30 tanks rollin.
