I've read that NY ATC is the top of the heap for controllers.  They do seem to have more than their fair share of Personalities.

With one exception, though, I've always thought it was a pleasure to fly through their air space.

I was ATC at Miami Center for 25 years. One thing I noticed by going to different centers is that they are all pretty much the same with the same personalities. You can pretty much tell the same stories with different names attached. I guess the job attracts a certain type of person.

Zeagle is spot on. I was ATC in New York Metro ares for 35 years. Great bunch of guys to work with. Lots of great stories, many of which are told at our monthly luncheons.
