Hello, regarding the below patch release,

My Avast Anti Virus quarantined the installation of the patch and is awaiting HQ to review and release the file.  Can you guys re-check the file and/or investigate why Avast (for the first time ever)  has quarantined the patch?  It labeled it as Dangerous.

Thanks!

"AHIII3403to3404.EXE...  it's been submitted for interrogation at the Avast Virus Lab.  We're currently questioning the files, and it's starting to crack.  You'll be hearing from us soon......  File size 106.8MB.....Publisher HiTech Creations, Inc."

Avast Virus Lab just took awhile to come back but they  cleared the file!

"Avast Virus Lab says:  This file is clean"....

Closing this thread.  But still odd..

Not odd at all. It has happened before and Avast is not the only one occasionally interfering with fully legit programs.

The main reason is that although about every anti-virus program in the market can find about 99.9% of known viruses they all struggle with unknown ones, the catching ability being about fifty-fifty. The more aggressively they try to find those unknown threats the more mistakes they make.

Since you're using Avast just as I do, I suggest you set Aces High to be excluded in every virus scan. There's several slots in the Avast settings for that.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

Avast and Kaspersky are the worst of the lot at doing this.  It is always a false positive and there is nothing we can do about it.

They also interfere with the game when the game is running.  Blocking network packets, delaying packets, blocking file updates and so on.

Thanks Skuzzy and thanks Bizman...

I've owned Avast for over 10 years and this is the first false positive ever.  Guess i'm lucky.  Plus not getting blocked file updates.  Cannot say yes or no though to network packets or delayed packets but my gameplay does seem smooth without any hit delays nor any jumping around.

Will keep an eye out and thanks for your insights regarding Avast and Kaspersky
