Bf 110C-4 flown by Gerhard Kadow with gunner Helmut Scholz of 9./Zg 76 on July 11, 1940. On this day they were forced to ditch in a field in southern England after a battle with Hurricanes of 601 Squadron. Both survived, but were captured. This aircraft features two kill marks on the tail and the early wasp emblem with three small wasps flying over a cloud. After the Battle of Britain, the emblem would take on its iconic image of a large wasp wrapping around the entire nose.
