Replika Simulations - WWII aircraft controls
« on: June 09, 2020, 05:45:48 PM »
Just saw this today.   The company is based in Croatia, and nothing yet available for pre-order.  But it sure looks very promising, especially the P-38 throttle quadrant.

I've been very interested as well, if these units end up going into production, I'll be as close to the front of the line I can get as well.  The entire series in the pics look incredible.  It's getting very hard to decide which hotas to use now, SO many great new products that have come in in the last few years, or are incoming like these.  For a sector of gaming that's been lamented in gaming media for being "in decline" for many years, there sure is a crap load of new sim hardware products coming out, for pretty impressive $$$, and their availability is always low (ie Virpil being constantly sold out and the long shoving lines that happen during their restocks).

Same topic different era - check out the F16 up front control panel units that TEK creations are making (other jet up front panels too).  USB that can be desktop or mounted.

Not to go to much further off topic .....

Gman have you seen the Black Hog B-Explorer?

I also think Virpil going to have a couple of expansion panels due out soon but being virpil it will probably take you 6 months on pre order and a year to finally get them in the store ....

I now return you to your normally scheduled topic of WWII Replica controls :D  :rock

I have seen the Black Hog stuff, but just IMO using panels (and the UFC F16 display I posted), sort of begins to be a game of diminishing returns when using VR (I fly VR in single player in DCS, and non vr in competitive online games like AH/DCS online/etc).  If you can't physically see the panels/etc, it becomes another bunch of switches and dials you have to commit to muscle memory, and more difficult than hotas as you have to lift your hand off of your throttle/stick and fumble about with your fingers trying to find the panel switches.  Looks very cool though.

Virpil has a collective stick they posted pics of on their Facebook page too that's in development.  It never ends....

Not to mention as VR improves hand and finger tracking will become more prevalent in sims for switch flicking.
