Ok looked it up. They changed the code. If it DID NOT have graphics it would be coded KF. His is just K. So it does, but still has to get there.

His manual says to use slots 2 and 4 when only 2 sticks. The DRAM light means there is a memory error. Per the manual.

The problem is 2 bent socket pins on the mobo corner. The tech who diagnosed it tried to straighten them for 20 minutes. He said he sees this all the time. I lowered the CPU into the socket as gingerly as I could.  :bhead

Aaaaaarrrgh! That would do it too!

He got them straightened out.. Right?

Speaking of bent pins I've been seeing posts by people lately that have ordered cpus from Amazon that come in a bubble pack just tossed on the steps! Duh! Whole corners crushed in!

I just got a little tube of arctic silver from them that came in a massive box with big bubble wrap. Go figure. It was completely undamaged of course! <eye roll>

He tried his best. Luckily it's covered by a 2 yr damage warranty. New board OTW.
