Video card prices are criminal!

They are not coming back to earth anytime soon

Mining is just one factor

That and endless price hikes from inflation will send most things to the moon!

I'm currently running aces high on a GeForce 8800 GT 512mb circa 2007, it's almost laughable and pathetic sounding but it's still better than one may assume. I was out of the whole gaming thing for several years and not much has changed. I threw my current rig together from bit and pieces I had but got a CPU and cooler free.

High refresh rate monitors over 120hz-144hz, SSD drives and that's about it. The rest is rehashed BS. An older but powerful card is better than a newer budget or mid range card when it comes to DirectX 9

To over generalize a bit, all newer cards do is play better at higher resolutions.

Anything is possible with the right settings as long as it's not a discrete or onboard graphics card. Now they really suck and are 10 years behind.

 I want to thank all contributors, some comments have directly enabled me to realize better FR's. I was not thinking outside of 'my' box.
 My CH stick(2nd or 3rd hand) packed up.... I did take apart/clean..no joy.
 My CH rudder pedals(2nd or 4th hand), brisk cleaning(air), good.
 Spent more $$ but few for Logitech stick..works good but no top hat for view....got nailed by 262 in F-4u1....when I could have...yeah.
 So, why am I beating my brains out...
 This is best WW2 flight sim.
