game freezes when im trying to join a server

when im trying to join the only alive server in this game, $ Open Melee, game just freezes with no response at all, at best it will show file :file:, Bytes received :Bytes received:, etc.
Offline works and other empty servers with bots too.

nevermind. installed the non steam version and everything works
