A cut from Gilmores new alblum
« on: November 07, 2024, 02:27:58 PM »
I am a HUGE Gilmore fan. Have seen Pink Floyd 5 times.  At 78 he still has it. Singer is his daughter..

Lovely song worth a listen. Every time I play it, I like it more.

Really nice song thanks for sharing. Didn't know he had a daughter so that was cool seeing them play together.

DG is my #1 favorite musician, followed by Jonas Renske. DG feels the guitar like no one else. I absolutely love his musicians hip. Division Bell is probably one of my favorites, always just puts me in a good mood. I think Brick in the wall pt 2 has one of the best solos you never realized was a solo, ever. Songs like Marooned are amazing. There is one live version of Comfortably Numb out there where DG just kills it and it's one of the best. I love this type of guitar playing because it really brings out the instrument and he doesn't have to do it fast.

Very cool that he is playing music with his daughter.

Gilmour is one of my favorite guitarists, maybe my #1 favorite.

I have never seen Pink Floyd.  I did see The Australian Pink Floyd, which was awesome.

She may be young enough to be his daughter from his current wife.  They had a son too, I think.  Also, I'm pretty sure that the bass player on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour was his son-in-law so he also has a much older daughter.

I worked a Gilmore show in at Chitcago Auditorium, 2017ish (top shelf best sounding room in the country). Sound was killer perfect (I didn’t mix). The guy is brilliance in song, sound and immersion.

Worked for Roger Waters version of Pink Floyd within a month of each other, at Chitcago United Center.

Gilmore’s show stomped RW’s. As a live sound engineer I was in bliss with Gilmore.
He also had at least 4 original PF cases from the 70s. :)

His setups, gear and show is very complex. But spot on.
