VOX fails
« on: November 23, 2024, 04:42:34 PM »
My Vox quits regularly and I need to use the ".resetv 2" to reset it. The reset seems to last only until a new sortie.

Any help or thoughts appreciated.

Just thoughts as there's no additional information provided.

The first thing to do is to Restart your computer before starting AH to clean any conflicting remains of other computing tasks.

The next thing to do is to shut down every other task that may use your sound devices. Even better if you can disable them starting automatically. And even more better if you can uninstall such programs. Teams in one form or another has become a part of the Windows Crud Package but it's not the only one wanting to use your mic and speakers.

Further, disabling sound devices you don't ever use. One such can be the High Definition Sound of your video card transfering sound through HDMI/Display Port. Many monitors don't even have speakers so if sound gets directed to that you won't hear anything. Even if you use more than one sound card - like the onboard for speakers and USB for the headset, setting the one you use for AH as default may help. At least you'd hear if any other program jumps in.

One addition to the list: Hibernation can cause a USB sound system not to start before un- and replugging. But who needs Hibernation in a system that's always plugged into mains?
