I think the F-104 is such a cool plane.

I have a fondness for the jets that were very inexpensive to make and maintain (relatively speaking) yet still highly successful in their roles at the time, like the F-104 Starfighter and the A-4 Skyhawk.

You remember Jack Broughton, Thud Ridge legend.  He wrote a very fine article on the Century Series jets.  Puma44, who flew 106s, may be pleased with Broughton's choice of planes to fly with his wife:
