Nice, but there's still that bug where if someone loses a plane and joins as an observer, that person is counted as losing two planes.  So, for example, the 308 lost 4 planes, but is credited with losing 5.

The 308th did lose 5 planes.

The problem with the possibility of an Observer crashing with the plane he was attached to is something I'm currently overlooking at the moment because to accurately filter out the sorties that were "observers" I have to run through a very time consuming query. The script is already much too slow as it is and I feel the occasional error in planes lost is worth it at the moment.

The scores however are correct and that's the main focus of the results right now.

I am working on speeding up the results page and if I can do that, I'll use the "sortie" process to filter out Observers.

update:  I reorganized a few things and it looks like it's counting losses correctly now. I'm using Vladd's sortie #3 as the proof that an apparent loss for an attached person is not being counted. Vladd is in the Firebirds.

I hope my bogus re-ups didn't mess you around too much; I was trying to gun, and kept ending up on the field. Wheels never moved.

Tilt released me from my misery....

Uh. ok, I thought we were only allowed one plane per frame though?

As far as I'm aware, you are.

I'd click on gunner, and get the "not here matey" message. Tilt would say try again; I'd hit the H button and pop out in a Spit with the engine running (I use auto take off, so sue me). I'd exit the plane and we'd try again...

Finaly I went on the CV to gun, which was probably best (though I think Tilt did get it sorted out).

If someone is allowed to re-up for whatever reason it logs it as the beginning of another sortie. Ideally the previous sortie should be removed from the results. To do that though, I would pretty much have to do it by hand.

or

We could just not allow re-ups and the logs would be pristine. ;)

or

We could keep allowing the benefit of being able re-up if you somehow screw the takeoff for whatever reason. If it's a disco, it will not show as a loss, if it's a ditch or something like that, then that is the fault of the pilot and should be counted as a loss don't you think?

ehh ... initial takeoffs in all events can be fairly chaotic most of the time, but I think we are doing a good job of balancing things out.

I thought the CV was the only place we could gun anyway?

eh? I was shot down by an unknown gunner?  This is odd... I had a horde of 109s on my tail and was taking pings right of the bat.  Even if I pulled too much Gs and ripped me wings off, one of the 109s should have gotten credit for downing me.  Please check the scores again.

I ended up nailed by a 190, however logs show me as being shot down by 'unknown gunner'.  I checked through all of the axis squads and no-one gets credit for me.  Even tho the 190 survived me and was then subsequently shot down by my squaddie.

Thanks for the explanation, exile, sounds good to me .
(I was just perplexed by the newbie flying with us.  Looks like we should explain the rules better to him next time. :) )

Says the same for me and Zeb.... Zeb was shot down in similar circumstances to you, but I crash landed after wrecking my gear going round for a second try at landing!  :o

Can't believe the Kraits didn't score any points at all though!
