Searching for pictures of projectiles...
« on: February 16, 2002, 08:03:41 PM »
I'm curious...

In an old thread about the MG 151/20 vs Hispano's, someone linked to a picture that HiTech had created.  It showed various ammunition, from .303's on up, and clearly showed the Hispano's greater size.

I've searched but can't find it.

Anyone know where it is?

Thanks....

:p  SandMan! What do you think her muzzle velocity was?  Did she have too much grain in her cartridge?

Hooligan provided the exact link that I was looking for.

Can anyone provide a description of the shells; i.e. from left to right; labels or something?

I can prolly guess, but a description of the shell's caliber would make a nice post!

Here is what I think the rounds are.  I might be wrong on a couple.

Left to right they are

US .30
BR .303
Sov 12.7
US .50
GE 13mm
GE 15mm
GE 20mm (Mg151)
BR 20mm (Hispano)
Sov 23mm
GE 30mm (Mk108)
GE 30mm? (Mk103) Not sure bout this one
Sov 37mm Not sure bout this one either

Tony William's book "Rapid Fire" has scale drawings of a lot more projectiles and is indispensible if you are interested in this kind of stuff.
