Outside loop?

Has anyone been able to perform an outside loop in AH? I've always wondered if it would be a good defensive move if someone is glued to your 6, seeing as how quickly you both would red-out when you applied negative-G.

Thoughts?

Yep, never used it in combat, but can be done!  Reason I've never tried in combat is I've assumed the neg. G's would only sustain about 2-3, and the bogie chasing me would have  the advantage of 6-7 before he blacked out, there fore, while I'm redded out, he'd have a clear view and kill me.

I've done it quite easily in training.  However you have to make it a very low-g loop, which means it's easy to follow.  When I tried it in training I got blasted badly.

Ya, but why wouldn't the pursuer also red-out, thereby giving you a fair chance to escape? Seems to me that if I pushed my stick forward suddenly, he would do the same, no?

All the pursurer would have to do is roll 180 degrees, Viola!

Yep, that's what my pursuer did.  He was confused briefly, but once he rolled I was toast.

You can do an outside loop, but anyone can easily follow you by doing a regular loop.  The only inverted neg-G trick that I'll use is to fake a split-s.  I'll push up when the con gets real close, roll back upright and try to pull off an Immelman or something.  (Depends on whether or not enemy bit the bait and dove.)
