Umm, actually, in World War 2, 12 guys would have been firing...12 guns. :D

10 guns per plane X 12 planes...120 guns.  Granted, the nose and bottom turrets were not used in this scenario, the ME262's did a good job at slashing attacks from the sides.  I think you were in that formation buffing with us weren't you Apache?

I think it is funny to hear from someone on how a buff should or should not be flown and they never fly bombers themselves :)  Just goes to show ya, opinions are like _______ everyone has one.

Ripsnort, I detect a note of sarcasm in your post. Guess you missed the smilie.

Agreed, in AH, 12 guys would fire 100 - 120 guns. In WWII, 12 guys would be firing 12 guns. In WWII, 12 bombers would have had 100-120 gunners?

I don't recall being in a buff in over a year or so, certainly not since the 262 came out. I could, however, be mistaken.

Lazs just wait for 1.10 to come out with 4 buff formation and probably AI gunners (we cant defend 4 buffs with 1 gunner).
Unless HT wants to loose all buffers (not bloody likely).

As a buffer i would love to see a more realistic bombsight (altitude and speed settings).

In RL buffs could hide in clouds too (not many of thoses here).

Im not complaining this game is great :D

If i can just get my puter back :(

We propably will get new targets too for those 4 buff formations.
And bigger bomb blast too.

HT always seems to make it work so ill trust his judgement.

In WWII 7 guys fired 12 guns. (8 guys, 13guns if the radioman's gun was installed).

NO, no sarcasm! Thought you might have been with us when we had that scenario.

(And on a side note, I would never let my relationship with Laz get inbetween a friendship with another online pal...nor would I defend anything my squaddies said online, its of my opinion that if you need someone to jump in on your side on a BBS, then the point of the arguement by the originator was weak at best to begin with! Right Hooligan? ;)  Anyway, Apache!  )

Yepper, buddy, if Lazs says "most" then "most:" it is. No sense arguing, he just knows these things.

Good grief.

Ripsnore did the math, and it adds up to a “WWII Sim.”

And I thought Buff guns were a gameplay concession by HTC till new features could be implemented? Seems to work as a whole to give a lone bomber firepower which is the MA norm for a unstructured group of players, but it might be a simulation of the real thing. Not sure.

Sounds crazy 8 262’s would get shot down, but I bet it was just leadership.

I swore off attacking them, and did for awhile, but just hate them so bad I inevitably shot at them, or  them down and made sure I was attacking from the bottom of the buff so when I had a Dora “steam maker” with or without a wing I would climb with more alt before I died and they would crash first, awarding me the kill, and saving a kill against me. An actual skill acquired in time.

Whether anyone else does it I don’t know. If they think about leaving, I’d have to say “most” of the old time arena players that have ANY merit in “simulating” combat do, consider it. Cuz face it, a competent Buff is going to fill you full of gameplay concentrated at one point lead.

Tardism knows no bounds, so you might have a point Hazed.
