Nuttz, Question about racing terrain
« on: June 03, 2002, 01:12:19 PM »
Heya Homeboy,

I have been wanting to build a racing terrain.

But I can't figure out how to build big giant pylons.

Where can I find or how can I build a realistic looking 500 ft pylons?

Any ideas??

I am interested in building a course that demands tight turns as well as fast staight aways.

Sort of an agility course.

There are Pylons In the terrain editor, the size i'm not sure about.

Or you could build them from any 3d parts that are in the terrain editor, but this takes practice, good math skills and an imagination.

If you download the editor the 3d things are in there. Everything thats in AH is in the editor.

wish we had an object group editor, so we can make stuff like bridges easyer, or at least something in the editor that lets us change the height (like the move thing)

you CAN change the height of all the objects in the editor. Unclick the set to terrain alt, and then type in the alt you want.

That changes the alt of the terrain not the object. I would like a 500FT pylon. How do you do that??

No,,,, there is a pylon in the objects ( it can't be altered) But it can be altered in hieght. when you place it unclick set to terrain alt and type in 500 feet.

If you want a custom one , at this moment it can't be made UNLESS your really good with making something that is acceptable with the default objects, THIS takes a good knowledge of the editor and manipulating the rotation, height and tilt of each object.

Scan a picture of what your looking for and i'll build you something close with the editors default objects.

Heya,

I really just want areally high Pylon for racing. Very narrow, very visible(like a checker board or barber pole) and very high (500FT).

Or just a very large version of what is already in the Terrain editor.

I already have a basic race course built. It takes roughly 4.30 to complete in virtually every A/C because it requires as much maneuvering as speed. Should be cool to fly when I'm done if unspectacular to look at.
