I flew one sortie from the carrier in an A6M couple months back
I already knew about the flaming death - but didnt know how long it would fly before the wings 'burnt off'. Sure enough after about 3 kills on the deck with more red IB, somebody BNZ'd me and whoosh, flames - too far to land anywhere and over the water at maybe 500-1000ft.
So I fite it out until they fall off - but they took a while longer than normal??? Meanwhile kills go up, I'm still up, and the dead around me are yelling rat hehe
Anyways - there are different outcomes in AH from fire - for example - the b17, when on fire, has a random detonation sequence - it isnt THAT random (in time or seconds) but its pretty accurate - you just end up in the tower in a snap.
I am hoping for a reworked flight and object damage model - would go nicely with the new particle system hitech has for the smoke. But to see bullet holes in a wing (affecting performance)on an FE from say 600 and closer wouldnt hit the FPS too bad?
