This idea just came to me yesterday. What do you think?
1. All fields get C-47 and one randomly chosen bomber (Axis for Axis, Allied for Allied).
2. All SMALL fields get ONE randomly chosen fighter (Axis for Axis, Allied for Allied).
3. All MEDIUM fields get TWO randomly chosen fighters (Axis for Axis, Allied for Allied).
4. All LARGE fields get THREE randomly chosen fighters (Axis for Axis, Allied for Allied).
5. No one but the CM knows which planes each side will get for each base they capture. So capturing bases is like a big Easter egg hunt!
This could be run as a ETO East or West set-up, or as a Pacific set-up. Base captures would be plentiful. You never would know what plane you would get for the next base capture, maybe Tempest at the next base capture for the Allies, or maybe 262 for the Axis. When one country has 1945 planes up against 1940 planes, a capture should be a cinch. But on capture they might find themselves in exactly the opposite situation, or maybe it will end up being a somewhat fair match.
There would also be an incentive to go for the medium and large fields because you would be rewarded with 2 or 3 different plane types.
