Hallinportti Aviation Museum

After the very rewarding trip to Hallinportti Aviation Museum's archives, here's a few fun photographs what the little museum offered alongside its amazing archive contents.

Now that is a SIM CHAIR. A MiG-15 gunnery simulator, where the "pilot" sits in a MiG-seat with its gunsight and tries to "shoot" miniatyre models that are being "flown" in the room with wires.

And the museum's two seater MiG-15, used to train Finnish Air Force's MiG-21 pilots before we got 2 seater 21s.

Part of the FA-1's, a Fiat G.50 fighter, rudder. Most kills by the renounced Fiat ace "Oippa" Tuominen.

What a fun weapon selection they had. Everyone in the company of course took a picture of themselves with the guns. What a nice weapon selection they got from Russian, Finnish, German and American aircraft. Here's MG-17 in close inspection.

We got it easy in flight sims. Just press radio button and talk. THAT is Junkers Ju 88 radio equipment.

And a peek to some of the museum's archives. Unbelievable amount of aircraft handbooks, test flight reports and such just await for someone to blow the dust away. Going through all those materials and publishing them on web is one of our association's future projects.

Check this URL if you want to see sneak peeks at the material we dug up from the museum.

Yes, but the pilot isn't expected to operate it and fly the plane at the same time; that's what his crew is for.
