[crackpipeignition=on]How about a simulation where everyone selects a real bird-of-prey and has to survive by eating insects, small animals, and killing the other hungry birds. The flight models would be easy to research, no cantankerous weapons loadout screen, no need for custom sights, landing gear would come down instinctively. You could "bomb" humans after an exceptionally well caught meal! You could experience the life and death struggle to live in a major city in the "Metropolis" arena or the quiet daily grind of the "Alabama Backwood" arena. You could even form Flocks to ensure the safety of one another. But beware the AI cats and snakes, for they would love to eat you and yours. Some minor problems are as follows:
-alt-monkeys could no longer be monkeys
-eagles and hawks would de eagledweebs and hawkphags
-no real strategic goals, ie: i stole your nest! who cares?
-duck, dove, quail season, would these be modeled?
-bunch of male birds with very few female birds with which to mate
-would a swallow be considered a bird-of-prey, or a method of birth control?
I do think these minor obstacles can be overcome.
