Just a reminder that we'd really appreciate it if when you're asked by the side CO to fly in a specific ride, that you really try your best to suck it up and fly it.
Several of our Snapshots have a bomber strike as part of the event. I know most people love to fly fighters and want to take on the role of interceptor or escort. However, if we don't have people to fly the bombers, then we can't run that Snapshot.
Some Snapshots are all fighters. Some have fighter bombers, and some have bombers. We need people to fly the planes that the setup dictates. If the setup says 75% of the Allieds should be in Il-2's (like last night) then around 75% of the Allied players for that night need to suck it up and fly the Il-2 for a night. Flying the sides out of balance from what the setup does pretty much will pork the event. Just flat out giving up and not flying at all is even worse, as you bring down the enjoyment level for everyone else wanting to participate in the event last night.
I'm not asking everyone to always bite the bullet when the call comes in to switch sides or fly in a buff or in a ride other than your favorite one. I'm asking that you bite the bullet occasionally when the need is there. (I'm not asking you anything I wouldn't do myself either. I didn't fly last night because I wasn't feeling well, but the previous week I wanted a Spitfire I badly. However, they were full so I was going to fly the Hurri I instead. However, numbers needed balancing, so I flew a 109E-4. I hate 109's, but I flew it anyways. It was such a monumental event that Nifty was in 109 that an incredulous Swagger took pix and posted on our squad BBS!)
