hi guys i have a gigabyte 7dx with integrated sound which is a sound blaster 128,   now i have a sound blaster 16 pci card thats just lyin around,what im asking is ,will the sounds from aces high use less cpu power if i install the pci card , or should i use the onboard sound   system specs are amd 1.4t bird 266fsb  ti4400  win98 512megs of ddr ram.......... what im mainly lookin for is real smooth sounds and not the little jerk u can get some times  thx all  38

IMHO you should buy a new soundcard: SB-Audigy (60$ and up), Hercules Fortissimo II/III (about 50$) or Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (about 60$).

I know first cards are using less CPU-cycles than other soundcards and are having excellent audio quality and some players have been pleased to their Santa Cruz cards.
