Here is link to new images from my becoming Combat Theater map "Finland - Russia Continuation War 1941-44".

Here is also one picture from FM2. It is skinned to Brewster Model 239, because there is not Brewster in AH...

I choice the FM2 to simulate Brewster, because F4F's wing skins are mirrored: our svastika is up and down on it's right wing! I have same problem with Bf 109 G6 right wing... I try to solve that problem with my friends in Terrain Editor General BB.

And Brady and Sabre: I send tomorrow the new FinRus file to you. It is now almost ready, I only have to make skins to couple of Russian lend leace planes: Hurricane Mk II C and two Curtiss P 40.

It really shows that the new Terrain Editor is one of the most successful improvements to AH since the implementation of ambient sounds

Outstanding work, Kanttori! I will definitely use it in my next set up (8-14 November), assuming one of the other CT Staff doesn't want to use it first. That FM-2 looks like a whole new plane. Amazing what a little cosmetic surgery will do for an old face. Brady is running the new Libya map this coming week, and Jarbo is up after that. If he wants to use this one, I'll work with him to get the planes and fields set up. Otherwise, definitely look for it on 8 November. Great job!

Oh, by the way...can you tell me exactly which fields/bases were German, which were Finnish, and which were Soviet? Also, did Finland have many tanks and other armored vehicles? Basically, if they didn't have many tanks, but had light armored vehicles like half-tracks and scout cars, I won't enable the Panzer-IV at Finland's fields/bases. Just want to recreate as much of the historical flavor as allowed, without sacrificing balance too much. Thanks.

Sabre, I tried yesterday send to you the new FinRus14 file. It is now 2,7 Mb and your mailbox is too small to receive it!

Can you please send me better e-mail adress with large mailbox or can you come today evening to H2H at 20.00 GMT to download it?

Fields are now ok (Bish 38 and Rook 38) and you can plan with this update the CT setup:

Russian fields are all the Bishops fields 1-38
Germany (Rooks) fields are 39 - 53 in the Lappland, 72 in Finland and 75-76 in the Estonia
Finnish (Rooks) fields are 54 - 74

I can send you FinRus.pln and FinRus.fld files, where the fields and planes are correct, I hope so... :-)

Field 72 is both Lappeenranta (Finns) and Immola (Germans), because they were so near each other. From there you can fly all the Finnish and Germany planes. As you know in Immola airfield was detachment Kuhlmey's FW190 Jabos and Stukas (Bf 110... here) in summer 1944 when soviet had the Great Offensive against us. They helped Finland very much.

We had for ex. General Lagus and his Panzer men on Karelian Isthmus 1944. Have you any books or good information of Continuation War?

I can send to you good links from the Russians Great Offensive on June 1944. They didn't get their targets... I think it is the best CT setup in this map!

In new Terrain Editor is couple of bugs and we must wait 1-2 weeks they correct it. For example couple of objects, like plane dugouts are not working good....

In any case I send the map files to HTC at the end of this month (31 october) and it depends on TE update and HTC can we use this map when it is your turn to be host...

Sorry I missed the H2H session. I don't have another mailbox I can use. If you have the file compression program called "Winzip", you could try to zip (compress) the file and send it again. In the meantime, all I would need to do my planning would be a good picture of the clipboard map with the field numbers on it. Definitely send me the links you mention. Looking forward to using this set up.

Thanks for the link (and the clipboard map you e-mailed me), Kanttori. It looks like Finland didn't have much armor to speak of during the Continuation War. Even armor cars were in extremely short supply. My thoughts on armor are to give the Soviet and German bases all the gv's available except the Ostwind. Most Finnish bases would get all gv's except the Panzer-IV and the Ostwind, while maybe one or two Finnish bases would get Panzer-IV's to represent the small number of T-26's and T-34's captured by them and formed into polygot tank formations. I'll have to look at the gv spawn points at the various Finn bases, to carefully choose which ones get the Panzers. Afterall, they need to be someplace useful.
