Carrier Ops taxi warning.....
« on: November 02, 2002, 01:06:21 PM »
Posted in the bug forum but wanted rest of carrier ops pilots to be aware of this bug.......

"Note there is a Carrier ops bug when taxi on the carrier deck.

note at low throttle the plane should move backwards on the carrier to simulate taxi for a reload.

This works fine without your tail hook deployed.

When tail hook is deployed and you hit the arrester cables backward even at say 1mph the game slingshots you off the back of the carrier at over 200-300mph with no crashing or plane dammage...

It does say youve crashed even though it happens in milliseconds so on your frontend there is no crash dammage.

It equates to a insta death and sucks bad...

Please fix.

Regards,

This has been around for quite awhile, If I remember correctly about a year ago staga discovered this and tried for well over an hour to find some benifit.  Unfortunetly all it did was sling shot him and eveyone else who tried clean off the stern.  You could see 5 or 6 explosions at any given time as people myself included attempted to take-off backwards :)

It can used to ones advantage if they're in a hurry just got to keep those fingers near the tail hook UP and brake buttons.
