Saturday night Knights Victory

All I can say is WOW.   That was some of the most intense fighting I've had in this game in LONG time....   WTG all !!

Nice job Eskimo, Corwin, Tack .... and all other Axis pilots.

I could not believe you guys took those bases.   To be honest I was really frustrated.  It was like a bad dream ... no not the one where your at work in your shorts ... the one when your moving really sssllloooowww ....  and everyone else is moving fast.   Anyways .. good job guys I think that was the CT defined.

Btw ... who and how in the heck did you guys take A1 ?  that was
key to the whole fall of Malta.

Brief:

1) 11:00 EST, Axis crusiers park off harbor,  harbor taken.  Axis maintian intense ack coverage from cruisers go to work on vehicle base.

2) Allies task force shows up and sinks Axis cruisers.

3) Allies try to bomb harbor and GV's, to no avial.

4) A1 falls about 30-45 minutes later.   Axis maintain cap over Allied bases.   Allied Task Force uses heavey guns to to hit Harbor and A1.

5) A4 VH destroyed.  Congrats 110.

6) A45 fall about 10 minutes later.

7) Enemy flak vehicles at A4 is intense.

8) Allies start to ralley.  Ack supressed at A1 and minimum cap starts to develope.

9) 1:45 AM, EST.  Axis manage to get an (M3?) at A4's map room and win the game.

And I was there .....

May have missed some key actions ??

LOL, that's because you poor bastards got stuck with Hurricane's!!

, that really was a blast last night.

Sorry for vulching you...
 :)

BTW, you are WAY easier to kill when you are taxiing bud!  :)

I really prefer close bases because they promote fast action.
I suggested that the Axis let the Allies take A-7 (or 8?) so that we could get a faster furball going.
No one really responded, so I drove the DT fleet to the Malta port, de-acked the port with a LVT-4, then captured it with a LVT-2.  I was hoping that we would get the un-numbered airbase next to the port.  I've seen planes take off from it in past set-ups.  We didn't get any planes out of it, so I figured it belonged to the depot.  I started shelling the depot with a AA gun and about 1/2 closed it.  Corwin and company started a ground attack on A-1 guys, pretty bold.  Then I noticed the un-named field was shooting at Allies, so it did belong to us, but planes were didabled.  Then I defended the port till you guys got my AA gun.

At this point I saw fire from your cruiser, so I engaged out DT fleet against it.  I dumped a lot of 40mm fire into the CV, and lost a couple of PTs trying to torp it point blank.  I lost the DT fleet to the Allied gunner (forget name..?) with nothing to show for it.

Then the system said A-1 was captured.  I immediatly upped a 109, got to 3400' and the friggin flack killed my motor.  I then tried to ditch at A-1, and slid about 2 miles because I touched down at 135 mph.  Before I could get to a stop a Hurri vulched me.  Well, everyone knows how much I hate vulchers  :) , so I re-upped a 109 and de-acked 4, then finished de-acking 45 (it was part down).

The rest was a furball/vulch blurr.  I don't think a minute went by that I wasn't shooting at someone, or getting shot at myself.  That was purely intense, my heart-rate and adrenaline were cranked!  (I did try to drive a M-3 up the hill from 45 to 4 though, hill was too steep.)

Anyway, great way to end a slow night.   Allies!

Personally, I like killing and dying at that pace 1:1 over 15 minutes between kills but going undefeated all night.

Eskimo,  your are definatley master of the GV.  Man you couldnt have parked that thing in a better spot.

We'll  atleast we now know where are weakspots are.  Defend/Destroy GV's at all costs.

my part in the fun:

After awhile of making that long trip south to Malta, I was also a little tired of it, so started a goon heading down from A8 towards A45 area (figuring mebbe I could convince somebody to de-ack it for me along the way). About two thirds of the way, saw tack saying A1 ack was down & called that I'd try to sneak in.

Somehow, I squeezed between the factory acks to my east & the mini-furball going on to my west :) Popped off my drunks, got the capture & then the real fun began, hehe

to all the allies that put up so spirited a fight

was fun

got better once we got an airbase on the island and you got rid of the 20 minute commute to battle :)

eskimo started it all by taking that port, then the airbase to its east, though you couldn't up a plane from there, you could rearm - that helped

That was a BLAST all!  I was able to get a couple of m16's and a pzr on allied fields and truly have a ball.  My apologies to the numerous hurricanes I vulched on takeoff in my 109 and in a GV.

The biggest honor was driving the M3 to capture the final base on the island.  Somebody must have dropped troops on it already as it only took eight to take the field.  For capturing Malta I received 2.62 perk points!  Wonder what you'd get for Pago-Pago?

It all started when some allied folks asked us to move the fleet away from the N side of the island...
