krazy... I reload so that isn't a problem... A box of 44's cost me about 4 bucks  bout the same for 357 maybe a few cents less.  I use sivertips in both the 44 and the walther ppk for "just in case" loads..  don't shoot more than a box of em a year tho.

gto... even the 4" 44 will stay on the paper at 100 yards..  hitting a five gallon bucket at 200 is no big deal... A 45 is way out of it's league after about 50 yards for most people and guns.

Fully agree, carried one in Beirut, Super weapon.
This is my duty weapon now, like it more then the Browning.

I just thought I'd post some pics of a couple of mine  :)

The right is a Series 70 Gov't Model that has had slide and trigger work done to it by Hoag.  It is my baby.  Her name is Betty.  :D  The other is a Model 66 S&W .357.

Here is another one I'm real proud of.  It's a Winchester Model 97 12ga. "Trench Gun".  It has the US Armory engravings on both sides.

And this may be (except my .45) my favorite of all the guns I own.  My father bought this Belgien/FN-made Browning Superposed Lightening 20ga. in 1965.  He took it on almost every opening day of dove season for 20 years.  Two years ago he up and decided to give it to me (I'd sold my Ruger O/U when I went to law school).  I've had it completely reblued and the wood redone.  It is absolutely flawless.

LOL dune... I have a winchester just like the riot gun but with 28" barrel... I am getting an old worn out one chopped down.

I also have a 1911 of around 1930 vintage... A cool thing is this clip that goes under the right grip and a spring steel clip runs along the slide so that you can hook it on your pants or belt under your clothes.  No holster.  Like the despured smith.
