How about using perks to repair battle damaged aircraft on return to base?,it could apply to maybe light damage, flaps, ailerons, gas tanks etc, park plane on a pad, engine off, window comes up with the repair list and costs, could be a time limit for bigger repairs too,Id rather use my hard earned perks like this on aircraft I dont really want to fly :)

Sure.. We have GV supplies that do that already. Would be nice to be able to repair bent A/C too.

At the very least it'd be nice is vehicle supplies would re-supply a plane's fuel(even if it was a max of only 25 or 50%)

Why would you need fuel? You're on the rearm pad, you get fuel there.

Oh.. you want fuel out in the middle of nowhere....

Good luck finding someone to bring it to you. Even more luck hoping an La7 doesn't spot you waiting for it :D

I think he means that he would like to be able to get more than 25% or 50% on a field where fuel's been hit...

No, I mean using vehicle supplies to refuel/rearm aircraft.  Perk planes ran out of gas near bases, or set up temporary airfields by landing a few goons with supplies in a field.

You can already get fuel with the field is hit if you land there and reload when you took off with more than that.  i.e. if you took off with 100 fuel, and rearm at a field at 25 fuel, you'll still get 100 fuel.

For the repair on the pad, make it so you can fix only 1 item, like a quick patch up during a pitstop.

And yes please, allow refueling by GV or goon for planes also, maybe only 25% like they said. It's frustrating to be in sight of the field, ditched in your ubber ride.

GVs get field repair/rearm/refuel drops so that they can get to a field to "land successfully"...

If you are going to repair your plane, you already got back to base... so this is just means to artificially inflate your kill/sortie and kill/death...

A sortie should begin when your wheels leave the ground, and end when you land and come to a complete stop.

Then again, the rearm/refuel option already allows people to artificially inflate their kill/death and kill/sortie...

Gettin' closer to playing Super Mario High with these options...

The problem is the modeling of the "successful landing" zone.  It's stupid how it considers you ditched if you roll to a rest just a few feet from the runway.  Only a problem in deadsticks but its still stupid.

I think it’s a good idea to have a repair system based on perk points.

As for the sortie beginning or ending, fine with me.  I want it for purely superstitious reasons.  I don’t see as how it would be that hard to implement either.

I love it!

I can just see all the improvised airfields popping up!
Like Roosevelt said after the Doolittle raid, they came from our secret air base in Shangri la. ;)

Giving GV's the ability to resupply aircraft fuel and armament is an outstanding idea and one that would add another dimension to an already great sim.  Given that the code for this has already been written for GV resupplies of other GVs and should be reusable, implementing this should only involve minimal new coding.

Would love to see this!

YEah this rubs me the wrong way too, but I suspect it is not going to change.

ok, I know this is just a wicked idea and it will never get implemented, but it's never wrong to dream, is it?

what if we could make new temporary airfields, but only gvs could make them, and they'd have to drive from a field (ie. not a spawn point). then it would take an effort to make the field useful. and it could even be limited in fuel/ammo etc. so that there would only be fuel enough for say 5 fully fuelled airplanes to takeoff and then you'd need to resupply the field or it would just disappear after 5 mins or so...

just a crazy idea... ;)
