It's a shame that the N.O.W. forums are gone(at least they were),we invaded it about two years ago. They threatened to hunt us down.

buch a panzie hypocrites.

...but yah never see 'em pickin on the motorcycle club members.

I am not a P.E.T.A. sympathiser but your point does not make any sense either. I do not doubt that if the P.E.T.A. saw bikers wearing chinchilla jackets, they would still have avoided confronatation but since bikers do wear leather, you are comparing apples and oranges.

Leather that we all wear - pig, cow, lambskin, horse, etc, comes from animals that we slaughter for food anyway or hunt for food and/or to control the numbers in the absence of natural predators or as pests.

The "fur" comes from animals that are hunted or grown specifically for their skin and nothing else.

P.S. Have you noticed the uproar the hyppocritical meat-eating leather-wearing americans make every time newspapers remind them about europeans eating/wearing horse or koreans eating dogs...

this thread sparked a memory from a few years ago.

I was working with this guy for a few days and he was telling me about his wife and her friend.

aparently his wifes' friend was a vegan (eat no meat, no no fish, no eggs, no milk, use no products tested on animals, wear no leather or fur.)  for about 10 years.  full blown animal rights wacko.

so anyway she was always going on about how there was no need to use any of these product.  as we have many alternate sources of protein, and you can make synthetic furs and leathers that are just as good.

so, they weekend before we went to do this job his wife and this friend went on one of those sun-up to sundown all day shopping jags.

the thing is that soon into the day this chicks plastic, fake leather, 'just as good as the real thing' shoes started giving her some nasty blister and generally killing her feet.  (plastic don't 'breathe' like leather)

she suffered through the pain for a few hours and miles of shopping tell she couldn't take it any more.

aperently her feet ended up hurting so bad she ended buying some leather shoes and eating a cheese burger.

air head, how dare u insult chickens! they r very intellegent, there feces do smell bad but only if u let them accumulate, a couple of chickens as pets would not smell bad, i have a rooster and he knows more tricks than playing a piano, i havent even tried that, he can lay down, stay, jump, play dead, and i can hypnotize him! i suggest u all get chickens as pets to save them from a certian doom (death) my moms friend has like 250 chickens and they dont smell bad and she gave me my little rooster and if u knew her she would let u have a chick or a rooster or hen for free, chickens are easy to take care of and they are very adorable and cute

also hens do not crow at 6:30 and they dont spread avian diseases to wild birds, they will if u keep them in unheathy environments, also air haed, it is sad to hear that another misinformed person thinks that chickens are dirty smelly cretures, especcailly a person interested in AR! sheesh people r so misinformed!!! : 0
It bothers me that so many people where i live think chickens are dirty, smelly, nasty, annoying creatures, i have wanted a chicken since i was like as far as i can remember and they r the GREATEST pets
also if u do consider getting a chicken check out this page:
http://www.hug-a-chicken.com/ its about chickens as pets!

Sounds like an urban legend. What, there were no canvas shoes available for sale? And the new leather shoes do not cause blisters?

And how does getting a fast acting explosive dhiarrea help with blistered feet?

What do you think would happen to a person ingesting animal products - especially mixed diary (cheese), meat and cooking grease after few months, let alone ten years of vegetarian diet?

In my soviet army days, we rarely saw meat and no milk at all. After just three months in basic training I happened to be on a work detail with civilian painters and a sympathetic woman gave us a gallon of milk.
Good thing there was a forest righ across the road... For a few hours we did not dare to button our pants afraid to lose crucial seconds...

miko, it could be fake.  I've met the wife and the girl it suposedly happened too  (although she didn't discuse it, she was eating meat at the time, 1 year after the shopping trip).

I believed it when I heard the story.  she's not the type who would have wore the canvas shoes if they didn't match what she was wearing.  she's the type who would cripple themselves with pain before looking bad.

as far as what would happen to a veggie who eats meat.  I'd have no idea.  I'm alot closer to a carnivor than a vegitarian

I'm sure it's pretty embarrassing to relate that little detail where you filled your cute little brand new leather shoes with something besides feet.
