I'm pretty new to AH.  I was surfing thru the BB's and saw this one and I had a few questions.

Namely, what is it and how do you get involved?

Hi najdorf, good to see you are taking an interest in our Special Events!  :D  You can get more details of the KOTH here:  http://events.simladder.com/koth.php and would be most welcome to join in!  Just turn up on the night!

Basically, it's a "last man standing" type of event, played over several rounds, with the winner of each round choosing the plane for the next round.  First person to win three rounds wins.  The King Of The Hill originated in Air Warrior and has been continued in Aces High by popular demand.... I am sure you will find it a lot of fun!  :)

Najdorf...

We'd love to see you there... It's always on a Friday night, once a month between Tours of Duty....  It usually runs for several hours and if you arrive late, it really doesn't matter.  You may join at the beginning of any round.

10 days until ***KOTH***....

WldThing, are you ready?

Yes, it is a walk-on event. Only thing a KOTH 'veteran' would say is check out the rules and regulations. Nothing slows down an event more than having to repeat those every time a new KOTHer shows up. Flossy posted a link where that information can be found.
It IS a ton-o-fun... or a kilo-o-fun. Not sure on the conversion time to UK area.

Hi Berra.... the KOTH starts at 10.00 pm Eastern time and, as Eastern time is 5 hours behind UK time, that means it is 3.00 am Saturday morning..... bit late for me, but you might be made of stronger stuff?  :D

As Fuze says, yes it is a walkon event.... further details can be found here:  http://events.simladder.com/koth.php - go along and have fun!  :)
